As of today, our lab have moved to the Reserch Center for Earthquake Hazards and change the name to Seismic Ground Response Section.

On May 12th, a new Research Student arrived to Japan safely.

On May 26th, from more than 1 year after the entry to the University, a D2 student entered finally Japan.

Starting June 6th, Associate Professor MOHAMMED Mostafa Thabet of Assiut University is visiting the lab as a visiting scholar for the International Collaborative Research of the DPRI Joint Usage/Research fund.

Due to the countermeasures against COVID-19, we were forced to spend a remote life most of this year.

In this difficult condition, 3 undergraduate students graduated, 1 master student and 1 doctor student and 1 doctor thesis applicant recieved their doctor degrees on Mar. 23rd, 2021.

SUN Jikai recieved his doctor degeree on Mar. 24th, 2021.

Eri Ito recieved her doctor degree on Mar. 24th, 2021.

Kyoto University Guest Professor(Visiting Scholar) Jorge Aguirre-González went back to Mexico on Dec. 28th, 2020.

While the state of emergency is being declared in 7 prefectures in Japan for the countermeasures against COVID-19, the new semester has begun. Kyoto Prefecture is also asking to act in the same manner, so it has started in a different condition compared to usual years, confronting difficulty.

Despite of these difficult conditions, three bachelor students have joined our lab! The Member List has been updated.

In order to avoid infection of SARS-CoV-2, the graduation ceremony for graduate and undergraduate studensts were unfortunately cancelled.

Kenichi Nakano finishied the defense of his Doctor thesis on Jan. 14th, 2020. He obtained his Doctor of Enginering degree on Mar. 23rd, 2020.

As of March 31, 2019, Dr. Takuma Saeki had resigned from DPRI. Starting April 1st, 2019, he has become Professor at Kobe Gakuin University.

Dr. Pierre Gehl of the French Geological Survey (BRGM) is visiting our lab as Visiting Scholoar from March 24th, 2019.
